There is currently very little documented evidence regarding the effectiveness of protective orders, largely because the data required to measure long-term outcomes remains hidden and resources for tracking these statistics are scarce. Those navigating the system often face significant barriers to sharing their experiences, leaving a gap in our understanding of how these orders function in practice. To address this, we have created a questionnaire to gather the meaningful data needed to build a clearer picture of the system. By documenting these realities, we can provide the evidence-informed insights necessary to influence policy, drive positive change, and ensure the protective order process effectively supports safety and fairness for everyone involved.
